SIGNIFICANT PROJECTS

Lighting Design

Adam has created 3-dimensional building models in order to design accurate lighting layouts for the interior and exterior of apartment buildings, parking lots, shopping plazas, and warehouses. Modelling the buildings allows for the most efficient lighting design to be created, ensuring that proper light levels are achieved, and maintenance hours and money are saved over the coming years.

Electrical Layout

Adam has created electrical layouts for various projects which include service entrances, site planning, distribution planning, elevator power, fire alarm systems, lighting requirements, and line diagrams. Adam has been involved in documenting the existing conditions for electrical upgrade projects, as well, detailing panel locations, distribution paths, and creating line diagrams.

Code Compliance Review

Adam has performed extensive code compliance and standards reviews for several projects. These reviews include referring to the Ontario Building Code, Plumbing Code, CSA Standards, Fire Code, Plumbing Code, and Ontario Electrical Safety Code, among others. Performing these reviews help to ensure that projects are completed efficiently, and important details do not go overlooked.

Fire Alarm Layout

Adam has created fire alarm plans for residential and commercial projects. Notable fire alarm layouts have been for apartment buildings, office spaces, and a retirement residence.

Retroactive Building Permit

Adam worked with the client, and CBO, to provide as-built drawings documenting a residential apartment which had been constructed in the basement of a mercantile building without a permit. A design matrix, zoning study, and final report were prepared, and permit application applied for retro-actively.

As-found Drawing Set

Adam prepared an as-found drawing set for a Victorian home built in the late 1800’s, which had since been converted into three apartments, had an additional apartment added to the rear, and an office suite added to one side. No plans were available, and the existing conditions were to be recorded before further renovation could proceed.

Sprinkler Design

Adam has provided fire sprinkler drawings for various buildings under NFPA 13 and 13R. This includes multi-unit residential buildings, commercial spaces, warehouses, and manufacturing facilities. These designs may include standpipe systems, fire pumps, and on-site water storage. Adam has provided existing sprinkler system review for oil storage facilities under NFPA 30.
